Sunshine 100Gbps Backbone (Under Construction)

Short Project Description:

 

This project is to replace the existing 10Gbps fibre optic network service on the Sunshine Backbone Network with a high capacity optical network between Brisbane and Cairns lighting the entire backbone ring at 100Gbps.

 Infrastructure:

 

Equipment to light one or more wavelengths to provide diverse 100Gbps paths from Brisbane to Townsville and Rockhampton; and equipment to deliver 100Gbps services to Cairns, Mackay, Gladstone and Palmwoods.

 Total Cost:

 

$1.9 million (est.)

 NRN Project EIF Contribution:

 

Up to $1.5 million

 Co-investment:

 

Up to $800k including contingency (JCU/CQU and QRNO)
